The Lostines Unleash Full-length Debut: A Genre-Bending Journey
"Meet the Lostines," is a genre-bending exploration that weaves together elements of rock & roll, country, Americana, and folk.
Two rising singer-songwriters, Casey Jane Reece-Kaigler and Camille Wind Weatherford, are making waves in the music industry with their captivating album, "Meet the Lostines." Hailing from New Orleans, the duo brings a unique blend of genres, creating a sound that defies easy categorization.
Their album, "Meet the Lostines," is a genre-bending exploration that weaves together elements of rock & roll, country, Americana, and folk. With lush harmonies reminiscent of 1960s girl groups, Casey Jane and Camille's vocal performances are a highlight of the album. However, "Meet the Lostines" is far from a retro project. It's a modern masterpiece filled with contemporary themes of heartbreak, relationships, new beginnings, and vulnerability.

The songwriting process for the Lostines is a collaborative effort, with Casey Jane and Camille working together to craft their songs. They describe it as a therapeutic session where they share ideas, create harmonies, and bring their band into the fold to add their influences.
The album features contributions from a collective of talented New Orleans musicians, including Sam Doores, Ross Farbe, Howe Pearson, and Gina Leslie. Skyway Man, K.C. Jones, Joel Savoy, Jordan Odom, and Casey McAllister also lend their talents to various tracks. Led by Sam and The Lostines, the album was mixed and co-produced by Ross Farbe.
"Meet the Lostines" invites listeners into the Lostines' world. The album offers an immersive listening experience with elements like spring reverb on baritone guitars, sweeping orchestral strings, Cajun fiddle solos, Theremin, and upright piano. Many songs set at night evoke the atmosphere of the wee small hours.
The album includes stand-out tracks such as "After the Party," a midnight walk along the levy overlooking the Mississippi River, and "Neon Lights," a luminous ode to an overnight drive from Los Angeles to Denver. "Full Moon Night" adds a touch of magic with its shimmering melody and lyrics exploring desire, longing, and past relationships.
"We are fortunate to be surrounded by friends who are incredible musicians and songwriters, and we all influence one another," says Casey Jane. "A lot of our bandmates are in our friends' bands, as well, and there's something that feels very cohesive about that, because there's so much collaboration."
"Meet the Lostines" is a testament to the power of collaboration and the boundless creativity that can arise from a collective effort. It's an album that bridges the gaps between genres and invites listeners to embark on a captivating musical journey.
